  • Rev. Dean Yuan, Lead Pastor

    A native of Cupertino, Dean accepted Christ as a child at the Home of Christ church. He majored in religious studies at U.C. Davis, where he met his future wife Sumiko while he was leading worship and she was playing the keyboard. Dean worked for a year in the Silicon Valley before moving to Portland, Oregon, where he received his M. Div. from Multnomah Biblical Seminary and his DMin from Talbot Seminary.

    Dean started ministry at the 5th Home of Christ in September 2004. Dean and Sumiko have two girls, Kaia and Mika. His interests include fly-fishing, cycling, tinkering, breaking things that were formerly not broken in the name of fixing them, and cooking. He makes a mean braised short ribs.

  • Rev. Daniel Jung, Associate Pastor

    Daniel was raised in Santa Clara and has served in ministry contexts in Northern California and Hawaii and finds it an absolute blessing to be able to come home and serve at HoC5.

    Along with preaching and teaching the Word of God, Daniel's other passions are football, fishing, and writing media reviews for Think Christian. Daniel is married to his wife, Debbie, and together they have two children and a long-haired chihuahua.

  • Stacy Carlson, Children's Director

    Stacy brings an extensive background in children and families as our Director of Children's Ministry. She served in churches in Los Altos and San Jose for 15 years before joining us here at Home of Christ.

    Born and raised in Seattle, as one of seven children, her passion is to see kids make a meaningful connection to Jesus. She enjoys hiking and any beach activity with her family. She is married to Tim and mother of two daughters, Mackenzie and Alix. Stacy loves that God uses imperfect people to tell His story to the world.

  • Irving Chung, Elder

    Irving joined the HOC5 family in 2007. He was born and grew up in the SF South Bay area. Irving became a Christian in high school and began to grow in faith in college. In the years since he has been drawn towards serving Jesus through serving His church.

    Irving has a passion for seeing God at work in the lives of everyday people. Irving works as an electrical engineer. He and his wife, Wendy, have three children, Oscar, Ian, and Noa. His current interests include woodworking, home coffee roasting, and ant keeping.
